Why Visit Niagara Falls?
Niagara Falls are one of the most awe-inspiring natural wonders in North America, with its three massive waterfalls—the Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls—cascading over 3,000 tons of water per second. The mist, the roar, and the power of the falls create a mesmerizing scene that you can feel from a distance. This constant rush of water has shaped a stunning landscape of deep gorges and has created a lush environment around the falls. Experiencing Niagara Falls is a blend of raw nature and thrilling activities, making it a truly worthwhile destination.

The best ways of visiting the Falls?
Niagara Falls are really impressive and you will surely be mesmerized simply by watching them from the distance. However it is possible to come closer to the Falls and feel the water splash on your face. No, it’s not possible to have a swim but let’s see what options of visiting will you have.
Hornblower Niagara Cruise
This boat ride takes you right up to the base of the Horseshoe Falls, where you can feel the mist and hear the thunderous roar up close. Rain ponchos are provided, but be ready for a thrilling, wet experience! You can book the tour online directly on the website of City experiences.
Journey Behind the Falls
Walk through tunnels behind the waterfalls and stand on an observation deck just feet from the powerful cascading water. It’s a unique vantage point where you can feel the vibrations of the falls and watch the water pour down with incredible force.
Skylon Tower Observation Deck
Take an elevator up to the Skylon Tower for a panoramic view of the falls and the surrounding area from 775 feet above the ground. The view is beautiful by day, and at night you can catch the falls illuminated with colorful lights.
Niagara SkyWheel
Coming with the family? Well, be prepared because your kids most probably will convince you to hop on the SkyWheel, a large Ferris wheel with fully enclosed gondolas. It offers a unique aerial perspective of the falls and is especially magical at sunset or during the evening light shows.
Niagara Parkway and White Water Walk
Don’t want to get wet and don’t like the Sky wheels? No problem, simply take a scenic walk along the Niagara Parkway, which stretches along the river gorge. The White Water Walk allows you to explore boardwalks and observation decks beside the rushing rapids and powerful whirlpools downstream of the falls.

Places Near Niagara Falls that you should visit
While the falls are the main attraction, Niagara has built up a vast offer of other attractions for tourists. Yes, it is touristy and crowded in high season. However, if you have enough courage to visit in winter then
Niagara-on-the-Lake
Just a 20-minute drive from the falls, this charming town is famous for its wineries, boutique shops, and historic sites. Many people enjoy a wine-tasting tour or a visit to the picturesque waterfront.
Butterfly Conservatory
Located in the Niagara Parks Botanical Gardens, this indoor garden is home to over 2,000 colorful butterflies, making it a perfect spot for a peaceful break from the main tourist areas.
Clifton Hill
My less favorite part of this area. However, I guess some families with young kids will enjoy it. Known as the “Street of Fun,” Clifton Hill is filled with family attractions, including arcades, wax museums, and mini-golf. Super touristy, avoid it if you don’t like the crowds. Go there if you enjoy mix of. nature and funfair park.
When is the best time to visit the Falls?
Niagara Falls are beautiful year-round, but peak visitor season is from late spring to early fall. If you can visit the Falls on a weekday you will have less crowds even in the middle of August. Winter offers a quieter experience, and the frozen landscape around the falls is simply stunning.
Where to for lunch?
The area has plenty of family-friendly dining options, including Rainforest Café and the Hard Rock Café on Clifton Hill. If you’re looking for a unique experience, the Skylon Tower offers a rotating restaurant with views of the falls. The area is super touristy so if you want a better quality and lower price, go directly to Niagara on The Lake town and have lunch in the middle of the vineyards. Cannery Restaurant offers various options of tasty food (vegetarian included) in a relaxed and not crowded atmosphere.
