If you’re planning to visit Saudi Arabia, it’s important to know which type of visa suits your purpose. Saudi Arabia offers a variety of visas depending on whether you’re visiting for tourism, work, family, or other reasons. In this guide, I’ will explain different types of visas available in Saudi Arabia and provide detailed, easy-to-follow instructions on how to apply for each. Let’s start!

1. Tourist Visa

The Saudi Tourist Visa is ideal for travelers who want to explore the country’s rich culture, heritage, and natural wonders. Introduced in 2019, it marked Saudi Arabia’s big leap toward becoming a tourist-friendly destination.

    • Complete the application form with personal details and travel plans.

Extra tip for European travelers: recently the low cost airline Wizz air introduced a bunch of flights to Saudi. They are much cheaper than the most famous middle eastern airlines and offer a great opportunity to fly to the region at a lower cost, plus you get to visit the Saudi cities which offer something interesting for everyone.

2. Business Visa

The Business Visa is for professionals attending conferences, meetings, or other business activities.

Eligibility:

  • Business people with official invitations from a Saudi company. Yes, this is needed if you are coming to Saudi Arabia for business reasons. If you thought that you can apply for a business visa because you are planning to invest in the country or just arrive and look for a job, this is not the case. You need an invitation from a Saudi company (yes, it must be a Saudi not a foreign company) and you cannot work on that visa in Saudi Arabia. This Visa is meant only for business people who are visiting.

How to Apply:

  1. Invitation Letter:
    • Ensure your Saudi host company registers an invitation through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA).
    • They will send you a MOFA reference number. Make sure you receive it.
  2. Visa Application:
    • Submit the MOFA number, passport, and completed application form through the Enjazit platform or at a Saudi embassy.
    • Pay the visa fee (varies based on nationality).
    • The visa will be printed in your passport if you apply in the Embassy or sent to you via e-mail if you are on the list of eligible countries.

Duration:

  • Usually valid for 3 months with single or multiple entries depending on your invitation letter and business purposes.
  • Length of stay depends on the visa type (commonly up to 30 days per visit).

3. Work Visa

The Work Visa is for those who have secured employment in Saudi Arabia.

Eligibility:

  • Applicants with a confirmed job offer from a Saudi company which means you have signed a contract with the employer.

More and more people are asking how to look for a job in Saudi Arabia. After the country opened for tourists it also experienced a huge boom of investors and started to open for the foreign workers just as the Emirates countries. High salaries and a new multicultural environment started to attract many professionals from the US and Europe. Just recently the Kingdom has emerged as the second-best country in the world for working abroad. Check the detail about the survey here. 4. Stay Updated: Regulations can change, so check the latest information on official platforms. The Kingdom is experiencing huge changes related also to the immigration policies so many practices can become more straightforward but it also depends on your nationality so don’t take anything for granted and verify with the official sources.
